Hello all. Once again, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, and I’m back with a new pattern that I hope you’ll enjoy. This is Mod Maude.
To avoid working from two balls of yarn at once, and to make it more interesting while knitting garter stitch, one half of the shawl is worked from the top out, then the second piece is joined to the first as you knit. Short rows, using simple wrapping and turning, are incorporated to vary the width of the stripes, creating an optical illusion. Change it up by working it in just two colors, or use up sock yarn remnants for varying stripes against a main color.
The pattern includes a little pictorial on how to pick up and knit wrapped stitches, as well as how to join as you go.
