Heart Walk Scarflet Giveaway!
It’s May 27, and that means it’s Sew, Mama, Sew‘s May Giveaway Day!! Be sure to check out some of the other giveaways, there are sooooo many to choose from!
Today I’m giving away a cute little scarflet that I made in honor of my friend Trisha and the American Heart Association’s Colorado Springs Start! Heart Walk that I will be participating in with her on June 20th. Trisha developed PPCM (Peripartum Cardiomyopathy) in May of 2007 after the birth of her daughter. PPCM is a type of heart failure that affects women in their last month of pregnancy or up to 5 months post partum. Many of the symptoms are common to regular pregnancy, so it’s important that you trust your instincts and know your own body. I would be ever so grateful if you would take a moment to visit our team’s page and consider making a donation.
This is my first completed knitted scarf! I started another, but haven’t finished it yet. I’ve been knitting for about a month… but I’m quite good, I think! I chose to do this on in red, which is the color of the ribbons used for heart disease awareness. It is made with Patons Classic Wool Merino, which is soft 100% wool. The side of the scarflet with the rosette is a loop, so that you tuck the opposite end through to hold it in place. Clever, eh?
To enter this giveaway all you have to do is comment on this post, and consider donating to the walk (that’s all I ask!). I apologize to anyone outside the US, but I’ve decided to limit this giveaway to US residents only this time. I will choose a commenter at random on June 1, and announce the winner then. Please be sure to leave your email address so that I can contact you should you win!
Oh – this is so beautiful! Beautifully made 🙂 Good luck with your heart walk campaign!

That is a beautiful scarf! My MIL made something similar years ago, but didn’t have the pretty rosette on it. Love this pattern! Thanks for alerting us to this problem…I had never heard of it before. I’m past childbearing now, but now that my children are beginning their own families, I might be a little better informed.
